Wednesday 20th December - walk ***** – Christchurch Park in Ipswich - cloudy.

Our last full day with our son Robert and Grandson Arlo and we certainly made full use of it and had a fantastic day. It started with Arlo and myself walking down to Felixstowe seafront to see the sunrise which was really nice, got some OK pics too, getting two chosen as BBC editers picks but sadly I don’t think they will make it on the TV:( I had a appointment for a hearing test at Ipswichc and so we packed a picnic heading to the hospital around 9.30. The test went well and my hearing is not bad enough for hearing aids:) We then all drive over to the other side of Ipswich for a cuppa and mince pie with the lovely Auntie Diane and had a great catch-up chat. Then it was over to Christchurch Park getting a good parking spot in Park Road, we had the most fantastin time in this beautiful pack, Ipswich certainly has some top parks:) We started playing with Arlos amazing flying ball and were soon surrounded by 10 squirrels all keen for some of the peanuts we had taken, they are real chubbers, they were feeding out of Arlos hand too:) Then over to the round lake for our picnic and had great fun feeding the black headed gulls. Lunch out of the way we headed over to the mansion which is free, they had an animal exhibition which included painting by Consatble and Gainborough, we did a complete tour of the house too, loved it:) It was getting dark with a few spots of rain too as we walked to the kids playground, more flying ball until it ran out of batteries then realalised we were way over our two hours parking time but we were lucky enough not to get a ticket! Then home for a warming cuppa and finish watching Home Alone 2. Storm Pia arrives tomorrow but we are taking Robert and Arlo to Ipswich to catch the train home before they drive to Liverpool for another Christmas! It has been a top visit, just brilliant to get our two wonderful Grandson together, we are so lucky:)
